I live in Highland Park-Westboro in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada with a husband, two grown kids and a dog. My passion is food and though this is a general blog, if a central theme emerges over time food may well be it!
I’m often involved in home renovation or other building projects. Playtime is for things like cooking in my wood-fired oven, dutch oven cooking, mead-making, boating, gardening and crafts – it changes often!
Weekdays the work world intrudes into my life but it foots the bill for the fun stuff.
Outside of posts about my life in general, care and concern about political, social and other local and global issues may lead to rants commentary now & then.
I saw that you got the painted label off the Beau’s bottles, I am a home brewer to, and could you tell me how to take them off.
It took a bit of work but I was determined!
First, I dabbed the paint with a Q-Tip dipped in acetone (be careful with that stuff if you use it), which seemed to soften it just enough to then scrape the paint off with a sharp paring knife. I then used some 400-grit sandpaper to lightly and gently deal with any remaining bits. It was time-consuming but it worked.
I’m glad I got my Beau’s bottles when I did because they switched from ceramic to glass not long after – too bad. Good luck with the bottles and your brewing!
